Ling’s weekend pancakes were a huge success for Hannah. She tore through her pancake like no tomorrow, picking up another chunk and stuffing it into her mouth before she’d finished chewing the last one. She didn’t even even stop for sips of water – instead she drank while chewing! And when she was done, she looked longingly at both our plates while we were still eating, and looked so interested in having more Ling relented and gave her half of another pancake.
The pictures above here don’t do justice to that very funny scene of Hannah stuffing herself. I took a video, but it’s baby gluttony at its finest, and I thought I’d better not put it up here after all. =)
All this pancake activity in Singapore strangely coincides with my recent breakfast rummaging. Usually I forgo breakfast altogether, but over the last several months I’ve been eating pancakes and French toast regularly.
Needless to say, I hope Ling is still in pancake-making mode whenever I’m back in town. Those look absolutely delicious!
No problem, Matt. I’ll do it specially for you even if my interest fizzles out by then! :P But I doubt so. Kids generally love this kind of food for quite a while right? :)
I sure did growing up, and my 15-year-old son still loves them. I don’t think he’s ever been so lucky as to have fruit-stuffed pancakes though. Maybe I’ll give it a try, though the last time I tried making pancakes — I was 9 — turned out so badly that I’ve not tried since!
Do try it, Matt! It’s easy. I cut slices of banana and place blueberries directly onto the wet batter after I’ve pour it into the pan for cooking. Once you see enough bubbles appearing, flip it carefully over to cook the other side – and it’s done! :)
