Day 12 @ Seoul – Hongdae Street

It was 3PM by the time we got back to Seoul city from our day trip of the DMZ. Too early for dinner, so we opted to be dropped off at Hongdae Station to explore the area a little bit more. We’d already been in this part of the city on Day 09 when we were visiting Ewha Street, and on Day 10 for a very late dinner after returning from the Garden of Morning Calm. Our guide for the latter day trip had earlier on advised us to spend time visiting Hongdae, as that’s where the locals frequent as opposed to Myeongdong, which he felt was really touristy. So, we followed that advice: and the area is indeed far less crowded than Myeongdong, and the type of shops and retail establishments seem to be broadly in the same types.

Pictures!

Compose Coffee. We hit this coffee joint a lot of times this visit already, on account that their prices are slightly cheaper than equivalent joints. They have a store policy though: every patron must have their own drink.
Didn’t see this Korean fast-food chain that serves out local cuisine. Must find an opportunity to try it out.
South Korean humour LOL.
This was about 4PM and the street was bathed in warm late afternoon light.

That’s a wrap for Day 12. We’re having our fourth day trip out of Seoul tomorrow morning. To be continued!
