This spot – Loboc River – wasn’t in our planned itinerary for Day 08. But as we had some spare time to kill as we kept our visit to the Tarsier Sanctuary short, our guide brought us to what seemed to be a popular adventure park for visitors, – the Loboc Eco-Tourism Adventure Park. The park entrance and pavilion sits at what looks like at least 70 meters above sea elevation, so we had a good point to launch the drone off to take a look at Loboc river below. Our guide brought us here specifically for me to fly the drone to get a different view of Loboc river. Yep, the river that I barely had time to get any aerial videos of yesterday!
After a couple of minutes surveying the area, figuring out a safe take-off and landing spot, and getting a sense of where the key geographical features were, the drone was off for me to take a general look of the area. I took care to stay well clear of the zip lines, and flew enough only to take a closer look at one stretch of the river below, and the small falls the end of the stretch. I also misjudged the lighting condition and mounted an ND64 instead of an ND32 filter. Moreover, at takeoff, the scene was brightly lit with strong sunlight, but barely a minute later, it got overcast! This led to some mushiness in the footage as the drone was forced to increase ISO to gather more light, and a shift in color temperature early on in the video below.
A compilation video!
That’s a wrap for Day 08. We got back to Tagbilaran Port well in time for our 5:20PM departing ferry back to Cebu city. We’re still undecided what we’re gonna do for the remaining couple of days, but more to come in this blog for sure soon!
