Takeshita-dori Street is Tokyo’s center of teen culture and fashion styles. No, we’re not in the target demographic, but since we had this much time in our second visit to Tokyo, we needed itinerary fillers! We reached the area at about 3PM, and it was pretty crowded for a Monday mid-afternoon. Right outside Harajuku Station where Takeshita-dori Street is was a street that was lined with Autumn Ginko Trees in glorious yellow.
A fun observation: there was a person in what look like the local authories with a sign reminding visitors to the street not to engage with touts. And a couple of meters away, there were several what looked like black Americans with signs and touting shops that were selling footwear on the cheap. LOL.
There were also several small shops advertising cute pet services, including one that had tame otters.
Pictures of the street over the hour we spent there.
Next, our last stop for the day: Tokyo Dome City!
