I really didn’t explore much of Osaka during the free time I had for this trip; and this, again, was for a variety of reasons: that this is my third time to Osaka now, that I’ve never found Osaka that interesting, and lastly, the unrelenting humidity as Japan was experiencing a heat wave. That said, here’s a collection of pictures as I explored the city for that rare bit and my notes!
I was in Osaka over Saturday to Wednesday: and over those couple of days, the weather was even warmer than Singapore!
Day 10 Saturday, and after checking into the hotel and dinner; exploring the immediate vicinity around the hotel.

90% of the photos taken during this trip were on the Samsung S23 Ultra, which again produced excellent and usable pictures without much further editing. I noticed though that there was frequently over-sharpening of pictures when the scene was complicated – especially the photos taken at the Japanese gardens from several days back. This was even with Scene Optimiser disabled. Wonder why.

Day 11 Sunday and at Kantele Ogimachi Square. Planes frequently flying over the city on approach or departing from Kansai airport.

Day 12 Monday: our business meetings were in the Dotonbori, so we also took the opportunity to say hi to arguably Osaka’s most famous landmark: Glico running man. There’s someone in the picture also posing in the same pose!
I’m staying at the hotel which is on top of Yodobashi Camera store. No real inclination to buy anything, but there was an entire floor of digital pianos, many models of which are not sold in Singapore. And I was also looking for the Canon G5X Mark II – which likewise isn’t sold in Singapore. Sadly, Yodobashi did not have stock for the camera either.
