Our next stop was St. Joseph’s Cathedral, one of the landmark sites in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. This church is neo-Gothic styled, and is a working church that has masses on weekdays and services on weekends. The church was built in the 19th century, and is the oldest church in Hanoi.

Just outside the church, our two student guides invited us to take part in what looked like their school project: visitor first reactions to local desserts. We got recorded and interviewed, which means we’re gonna show up on their YouTube channel somewhere.😅

Talking about school projects, our two guides shared that each trip they’d required to write a reflection report that would get reviewed by their peers for improvement. That sounded so familiar to what my students have to do to haha!
