Our Minton renovation project finally started on the 28 Feb Friday – exactly 7 weeks after key collection. Defect rectification is still ongoing though with a few more issues to resolve, but these concerns areas that aren’t affected by the main renovation, so we allowed the defect team to finish these concurrently. Looking at our projected timeline from earlier this year, we’re about late by a fortnight – we’d initially planned for the project to start in mid-February and allow for up to 6 weeks for it to complete, and for us to begin the laborious process of slowly moving bit by bit from the start of April. Our designer has advised that our project will complete latest by mid-April, but will try to get it done by the end of March.
We checked out our unit this morning – Day 3 of the project. The house’s flooring has been laid over by what seems two-layered protection. Some sort of bubble-based wrap as the base layer, and another cardboard layer sitting on top of it. Two stacks of craftbrick boxes have also been bought into our unit too, which I assume is to mean that the craftbrick wall will be among the first items to get installed, alongside the first electrical works to begin this coming Monday. The door frame in the yard toilet has also been removed to make way for our washer and dryer stack that will be going into the yard toilet.
More notes to come in the next couple of days.:)
