Part 2 of our series of ten posts on our stay at Telunas Beach Resort. For the other posts, do check this link.
One of the ‘idling’ activities we had was fishing, which we tried out on Day 2. Ling wanted to check out the about 400m stretch of beach, so she went ahead with that with Hannah. Matt and I loaned for free a couple of fishing rods and squid bait, and set about making bets to see who’d snag lunch and dinner. It was no contest to be sure though – because within 10 minutes, my hook got snagged in some rope tied around a pylon, necessitating a cut of the fish string and losing the bait weight. A Telunas staff member gladly re-tied the fish string and weight for me, and I had no better luck catching just about nothing.
Matt was more skilled; and within an hour, he’d caught 5 small crabs. Yep, we didn’t catch a single fish, but he more than made up by, possibly, decimating the crab population around the dock area! His final count was six, excluding the another dozen or so that slipped away when he tried hauling them in.=)
