Virtually, that is.
The chekyang.com domain has been around for more than a decade now. The first host provider I used was Hostway: pretty good service though subscription plans for a while were relatively expensive. I did a domain shift to Yahoo instead in 2006 or so. Their plans were a lot competitively-priced, but perhaps as with all big providers hosting a huge number of domains, service qualities were a mixed bag. Over the years, some of us had occasionally experienced the blog here going offline and the like, or extremely slow access speeds.
The last straw came 2 weeks ago though when after a routine version upgrade of WordPress, all of the blog’s few thousand images of disappeared off my blog’s maintenance screen. They still load as normal on your browser, but on my Administrative end, I can no longer see them. Bleh. I’ve had enough.
So, this month I’m gonna scout around for a new web host provider to replace Yahoo. Got a couple of options, but as these things go, domain transfers for a semi-large and convoluted blog site like this will be tricky.
