It was thunderstorm outside our cosy little home and every time the lightning flashed across the night skies and deafening thunder ensued, I expected Hannah to be frightened and start crying.
She didn’t.
Just a few days ago I was feeding Hannah and suddenly a pen got rolled away by wind generated by my table fan. She got a shock and her eyes reddened up with her mouth forming the unhappy inverted ‘U’ and the next thing was she started crying!
A few times when I was feeding Hannah and Yang was typing at his computer keyboard she actually paused from sucking, turned her head while the teat was still in her mouth to check on the source of the sound and gazed at her daddy. I would say to her something like, “It’s okay sweetie. It’s just daddy lah.” Then she would resume sucking.
Since Hannah’s room is facing the swimming pools, she has been listening in to all the excitement created by the kids playing at the pools. Recently, we heard Hannah doing a bit of yelling and screaming while playing by herself in her cot. Well, this is something out of my control la. When she’s old enough, I must teach her that screaming / yelling is inappropriate especially in the public.
I’m still amazed that the lightning and thunder combo did not jolt her a bit. :)
