My department at work recently made some changes to our usual monthly staff meeting – before the meeting begins, we’ll take turns each month to demonstrate a game we’re playing.
The first game that was demoed wasn’t a well-known mass retail sort of thing you see sold on shelves. It’s Plants vs Zombies – a Tower Defense game that sees you trying to protect your home against hordes of zombies using a variety of plants.
In fact, I decided to try putting the game through a litmus test – seeing if my two nephews would like it. I brought down the netbook to the function room during Hannah’s birthday bash and got Danyel and Isaac to have a go at it. It took just minutes for them to get hooked LOL.:)
The concept is simple, game play mechanics not sophisticated. But the game’s crazily addictive and shows exactly how you can still create an attractive game that has already been done countless times. The game’s very easy to learn, runs well on most computers (even on netbooks), and has a lot of levels and secondary game play modes – my favorite’s one in which zombies are invisible.
I’m right now waiting for Danyel and Isaac to ask me where they can get the game for themselves.:)
Eh… so I’m asking the obvious question. Your nephews are asking their er su, where to get the game? They can’t stop talking about it. :-)
Right here.:)
