Transporter 3 (2008). The other Jason Statham movie to arrive together with In the Name of the King was the third movie in a series that sees Statham as former SEAL operative turned karate death-dealing expert who drives packages around as a glorified delivery guy.
Truth to tell, the series is fun. The stories typically revolve around Frank, Statham’s character, who is engaged – usually against his better judgment or will – to deliver his cargo to a location or a person. Along the way, there’re baddies who’ll try to stop him in typically well choreographed fight scenes that’ll showcase Statham’s fighting skills and eight-pecs. In other words, you watch the Transporter movies for its action – no more, no less.
Vehicle chase scenes are also big events in the Transporter movies, and they’re always exhilarating. There’s a scene where Frank chases a vehicle through narrow roads and factories after… on a bicycle. That was a lot of fun! And another scene that I haven’t seen before in films: he drives a car that runs along the length of the roof of a train LOL.
So, one doesn’t watch these films for their stories or their characters. It’s for the dumb action, and on this score (and alone) I’ll rate the film a watchable .
