The guest room / kid’s room / Matt’s old room has become a little store house of late, what with the growing collection of equipment and materials we’ve been getting in preparation for our baby girl.
Several of the large items we ordered from Kiddy Palace the other day have arrived this afternoon: from left to right, the car seat, the baby pram, the cot, and the play pen. Mummy Ling wasn’t at home, so a befuddled daddy had to listen to an old Uncle / delivery guy explain how to assemble, dismantle, adjust etc. the cot and the pen.
Help – should have had a video recorder to tape down the instructions LOL.
Hate to tell you this but there are other items to come – bottles, breast pumps, sterilising equipmt & wash, cot mobile, bumpers etc….plus the fact that you might tend to over buy clothes for the first one, esp a girl…. heeheehee
Yea but Ling I think is conscious about that last, Pam – she was saying the other day we have to avoid buying too many clothes.:)
some of the things can be gotten from other parents. i could have passed you the car seat lah…
i was shocked and humbled when my mom took care of #1 and she relied on only 1 milk bottle (140/150ml) at one stage cos i forgot to pass her extras. she would make a milk feed and after #1 is done, she would quickly rinse it and put it into a small pot for a quick boil and leave it there till she had to make the next feed. kudos to my mum, she doesn’t harp on what she doesn’t have but make do with what she has and moved on.
clothings, yes – no need to buy lots cos you’ll receive them in presents on birthdays, christmas and any other occasions thought up by relatives. #1’s baby clothings are currently being worn by #4, very good recycling hor…:D
don’t go shopping at kids’ stores after baby’s arrivals cos the cute clothes are very hard to resist not to buy…!
The last bit was *very* good advice LOL.:)
