Truth to tell, I think one or two of our friends are a bad influence on Ling. How so? Well, she was inspired by the steam vacuum cleaner that our small group friend Ann has. So on Monday evening Ling went to the OSIM outlet at Compass Point with husband in tow to buy her latest toy – the OSIM iEcologi, a steam-based vacuum cleaner LOL.
Jokes aside, I think Ling was sold on all its advantages. A powerful vacuum suction, use of hot steam to sterilize and kill bacteria, and versatility in cleaning all sorts of surfaces. Folks have used the thing to clean pillows, bedsheets, even curtains. The vacuum cleaner doesn’t make too much of a din too, compared to the old vacuum cleaners I’ve used before which are loud enough to wake the dead.
More importantly, she believes that with this machine she can finally help clean the house during her pregnancy. Since September, I’ve been the one mopping the place on weekends, so this is welcome relief too to finally have a regular pair of helping hands.
Admittedly the cleaning job’s pretty OK. The marble floor in the living room certainly felt smooth sans the usual dust particles that collect quickly.
The downside? The damn thing weighs a ton! Check out the specification: gross weight 16.8kg. I don’t think Ling’s gonna want to use this thing to clean the house alone as some heavy lifting’s necessary to move the unit around the house. Damage? A hefty $1288, with a complimentary water purifier thrown in (we can’t use this though the water nozzle in the kitchen’s too large).
But watching Ling ripped the contents out of the box like a 6 year old girl given candy and watch her figure out the assembly of the iEcologi… absolutely priceless!
Oh yeah. Our friend Ann’s review of the iEcologi is Google-able LOL. It turned up in my search right here; it’s the link at the end of page 1.:)
we owned a slim, portable steam mop (Ecomop) many years back. eventually gave up, too ma fan to change the towel when it got blackened.
also back-breaking cos not long enough for me to straighten my back to go around the place.
went through quite a few vacuum cleaners too cos the hose got separated while vacuuming (poor quality i guess). managed to finally find a vacuum cleaner that can take my chor-lor-ness…;)
have fun with the new toy, Ling.
alternatively, leave all the housework to Chek Yang.
must add that men cannot clean as well as women!

HEY LOL!!!! :)
*lol*
natural or caesarean? decided already? i hope it’s natural…
You can decide so early…? I think Ling’s going for Caesarean though.
usually the woman decides on her own early on lah….the doctors would prefer to wait till later to see if there’s room enough for baby to journey.
full GA or partial? partial, you’re conscious, can hear but can’t feel the zingings..
why caesarean?
Aggghhh… sorry I meant Ling is going for natural. Sori… old man and getting senile.:(
*peng san* like that also mix up, don’t mess it up in the delivery room….heh
