Ling and I went about looking for our final additions to the current tank setup – bottom feeders who would occupy the lower levels of the tank. We’ve been deciding between Clown loaches, Panda corys or Peppered corys – and we eventually decided to go with the latter. We’ve just picked three Peppered corys from Aquatic Concepts at Thomson Plaza:
While the Corys were slightly more expensive than elsewhere at $1.50, it was well worth the additional expense: the handling and packaging by the shop owner was pretty careful. We spent an hour acclimatizing the fish before actual addition into the tank.
Here’s Aura taking an interest in the new additions. From what I’ve seen so far, the three Corys have adapted to the tank. Within minutes, they were scrounging on the gravel for food. I’m not certain if they’d be able to compete properly for food with the rest of their tankmates but we’ll see.
